A Pretty Busy Week so far…

This is what the kids looked like today at the movies. Faith's friend Krista was with us too, but declined to be in the picture. It's always nice to have her along - such a sweet girl. We had a good time watching today's “Tale of Despereaux”, but so far my all time favorite of the summer fun movies is “Kitt Kittredge” that we saw last week. It is really a very sweet story. Today's tale of little mouse Despereaux was good too and Jaxon's comment was “That was an awesome movie!” He has been trying to be very positive lately. It is Austin's birthday today, so we sang Happy Birthday to him in the theater before the movie started. As we were getting ready to take the picture, I had them all say Happy Birthday Austin instead of the traditional cheese! They are a cute bunch of yahoo's for sure. Jade brought chocolate to the movies and it went over well. M&M's are good anytime, all the time! Hats off to our mom's who battle the hordes of kids and crazy moms and dads that are all trying to herd their chicks to and from. Thanks to Jordyn and Jesse for watching Emersyn so Taya could go with Madison and Lauren. It is a fun time to spend together. Harry Potter's “The Half-Blood Prince” opened last night at midnight and the theater has the line barricades up outside for all the fans waiting to see it. There were so many people there today it was crazier than usual. I think some of the moms are going to a late show tonight to see if this latest Harry Potter is okay for the kids to see. The little ones anyway. I love to go enjoy the stories, the wonderful special effects and just sort of lose myself in the experience at the movies.

When I was dating Grumpy in high school his dad worked at the Bethany theater in Phoenix. We went to a lot of movies, and continue the tradition now. We love to go. He is not a big fan of Harry Potter, so will be secretly glad I went with the girls. It's all good.

Here is Grumpy at the lake on Monday when we took the Jarvis' minus Jade to the lake. He loves being on the water and in the water. The Jarvis boys had lots of fun jumping off the front and the back of the boat, chasing the ducks, climbing in the tube, swimming in circles and even eating sandwiches and grapes on the boat.

There were some tired boys in the car on the way home, and hungry again to boot. Jeff included. He had had a long day by the time we got home, Grumpy too. We got a late start to allow for that pesky “work” that people have to do (LOL), so ended up at Saguaro for this little trip. Next time I will plan better and we will have even more fun.

I'm so stealing that pic of all the cousins! That doesn't happen often... Movie days are the best and our little piece of freedom this summer! Thank you for bring out Jo and picking us up Mom, we are lucky to have you do such nice stuff for us! K&D were sad to miss the traditional movie days of the summer. I am looking forward to Harry Potter tonight to see if it's a go for Daron! He is soooo excited!

The kids have enjoyed "movie day" sooooo very much this summer. (Even though they had already seen all but 1 of the movies shown)!! The experience/tradition with all of the cousins (age appropriate, 'cause Taylor & Jordyn aren't interested) has been priceless. Thanks again for coming and braving the hoards (sp?) of crazy kids, crazy moms and crazy dads. It wouldn't have been the same w/o you there. :)

The boys (all of them) really enjoyed the lake trip. They are excited for the next trip.

And....since you never blog about how often you watch the kiddos lately.... THANKS!! It's nice to be able to go on a date with my hubby!! :)
