Strawberries and What?

Tonight for dessert I made Rylee's favorite dessert…and she wasn't here to eat it! It is kind of an odd combination, but it is delicious. You wash some nice strawberries, leaving the tops on them. Put a dab of sour cream in a bowl, and a scoop of brown sugar in another bowl. You dip the strawberry into the sour cream, and then into the brown sugar and enjoy. Many years ago when Richard was stationed at Lowry AFB, Denver we were welcomed into town by my Aunt Charlene. She was so sweet to us, and made us a wonderful dinner, finishing with the strawberry dessert above. We have now handed that down two more generations. I so appreciated her hospitality and kindness to us while we were there. She was a crazy lady, in a long line of crazy ladies. Aren't we all?

I guess Rylee and I will have to have dessert tomorrow. Just goes to show you, it doesn't pay to miss dinner at Grannys!

For all our Cooks…

I created a site for us to post Nana's recipes, and our own recipes, complete with pics as we make them. I hope it will be fun to share all the things we do everyday in our kitchens. All of us have our favorites, things that challenge us and the special things we do for holidays etc. I hope you will all feel welcome to contribute and reap the benefits of all of us cooks.
