I am afraid if I don't post this now, it may not get done. My eldest son is turning 30 on May 7th. Not only is he “old” now, he's making me old. Frankly, I think thirty's are much better that twenty's. The forty's were really good, but I'm not sure how really feel about the fifty's yet. I'll have a better idea when I'm sixty. Richard (R.B. to me) thinks he's my favorite, but then all my kids think they are my favorite. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I really appreciate his:
- ability to be really funny
- natural love for children
- being a big kid himself
- dedication to fatherhood
- genuine concern for others
- many and varied talents
- desire to help
- love for his family
- running interference for his Dad
- sweet, handsome face
Moms can say embarrassing things like that and get away with it. I love you Richard. Happy Birthday, you'll like thirty.
We have a lot going on in May. The biggest, most consuming thing is of course moving. Aaaauuuggghhh! I will love it when it's done though. I'll just be spring cleaning for most of the summer too. Kevin has a birthday on Cinco de Mayo, R.B.'s birthday on the 7th, Wyatt's birthday on the 9th, Shalayne and Clayton's 1st Anniversary on the 12th, R.B. and Stacie's 10th Anniversary on the 14th, and Mother's Day that day too, Aden's birthday on the 15th, Spencer's birthday on the 24th, and Rachael and Scott's Anniversary on the 30th(?). School will be out at the end of the month and I can hear the groans of mothers everywhere as they look ahead to the days of “mom, I'm bored” that are coming. Anyone with ideas for fun stuff to do with kids for the summer vacation? Don't be shy about sharing.
I just hope I can survive May.

I do love R.B., though I still can't seem to call him Richard! He is one of my favorite brothers! :) As far as the bored kids in the summer, do a craft with them 1-2 times per week. It really doesn't cost that much, just a few dollars and some minimal planning! If anyone wants ideas I have books and books of them!
