It's a Miracle!

The garland in the dining room is up, and decorated for Thanksgiving. I like it so much I wish I had done it for Halloween. I love anything holiday, so seeing the dining room in Fall Splendor is exciting. Jade helped me get the grapevine stuff up and then stuck with me while I found the evergreen garland and the fall ribbon (I've had for 4 years and never used!) We went out to the light boxes and unearthed some twinkle lights and got it done. Last were the beautiful fall leaves and plants to give it the festive autumn look I love so much. Now if I could just get that motivated for the rest of the stuff.

In the middle of all that, Richard, Grumpy, Robert, and Jeff took the truck bed off Grumpy's truck to put a new gas tank in. Thanks guys for all the help and muscle that went into that.

We had a couple of the families in for dinner tonight and took a few pictures. The after dinner activities:

Rylee and Jaxon reading

Ryker and Aden watching some scary looking cartoon.

Jade giving Jordyn a new do.

Grumpy into his book series “Millennial Glory”.

Jordyn's finished hair. Too cute!

Taylor just hangin and talking to all of us.

Tawna, Nathan, Faith and Chance stopped to say Hello, but had already eaten. Taya, Kevin and their family were having a Harry Potter weekend movie marathon. Jade and Jeff went visiting, to the park to feed the ducks and help us out here with stuff. Robert and Jennifer made cream cheese brownies last night - I love a midnight snack.

The dinner was a favorite - meat loaf, garlic mashed potatoes, gravy, brown sugar carrots, and a vegetable medley from the freezer since I didn't shop yesterday. Jamie and Summer brought Brownies. They were good. So good I kept a few for a midnight snack. I am the original night grazer.

A pretty low key weekend, but in all the everyday things we all did I feel the happiness that being a family brings. I catch a glimpse every now and then of the dream I had as a young wife and mother that our kids would find happiness. That we would be one of those families that is close, serves each other and learns to love in spite of all the differences we have. Next week we are looking forward to spending some time at the dunes. Meanwhile the ten boxes of apples in the garage are begging to be applesauce. Tomorrow is “learn to do applesauce in the new gizmo” day. Tracy is coming to help and Jade will be here too. Tawna may be coming, so we should have a good crew. Wednesday is bread making day at Taya's - we will be doing a double batch this week. I love my family so much. It's all good.

Looks like fun! It seems like Summer manages to make it over for every Sunday night dinner . . . Hmmm. Where were we?? Ha Ha J/K I know it gets overwhelming to have us all over at once.
